Disheartened Volunteer Bids Farewell to NT

Dear Editor

I have been a volunteer at a National Trust property for nine years working in the office and other roles from time to time.  I have recently become aware that my roles were being taken over by a new member of staff.  The last straw came recently when a filing cabinet I have used regularly was locked by this new member of staff when out of the office.  It then meant I could only access it under supervision.  I value my honesty very highly but suddenly it appeared that I couldn't be trusted any more.  I am afraid I just got up and walked out, it is unlikely I will ever volunteer for the Trust again.
