No thanks for long volunteer service

I would like to give you another example of the poor treatment of volunteers. A friend was a volunteer at a National Trust property for 25 years. When he finally had to retire due to ill health, I was shocked that he received ho thanks for such long service. It took an email from me to the manager for him to receive a thank-you letter. Disgraceful. At the same property the volunteers were asked to wear LGBT badges. Happily most of them refused !
