Bloated bureaucracy
Heelis in Swindon - does this look like the head office of a charity which cares for fine architecture?
A member of the National Trust wrote to the General Manager of his local property,
"I am sure that everyone connected with the Trust will be concerned about the Director-General’s email about staff cutbacks. Last time there was a reset, it was the regions that seem to take the brunt of the cutbacks -and I hope that this is not repeated.
Many of the woes of the Trust can be attributed to Heelis - undue bureaucracy and preoccupation with political causes. That means that Heelis as an unwieldy ball and chain on the organisation should be reduced and take responsibility for what they have engineered.
Organisations that have large prestigious head offices are always suspect because they quite often have lost their momentum and priorities. Many would think that is the root cause of the current problems.
Please pass on my comments if you have the opportunity."
